Enterprise Platform Support
Technical Support Engineer — Posit PBC
Helping enterprise customers solve complex deployment and production issues while developing the product expertise that led to an internal transfer to the Senior QA Engineering team.
The Opportunity
I joined Posit as a Technical Support Engineer, supporting enterprises using Posit Connect, Workbench, Package Manager, and Connect Cloud. My role involved troubleshooting production issues, reproducing defects, and working closely with engineers to resolve complex technical problems.
What I Worked On
- Investigated production issues across customer environments.
- Reproduced difficult defects using customer configurations and data.
- Analyzed server logs and diagnostic information.
- Collaborated with engineering to isolate root causes.
- Validated fixes before they were delivered to customers.
Building Product Expertise
Supporting enterprise customers required understanding the platform from the customer's perspective. I became familiar with authentication, deployment workflows, publishing, enterprise infrastructure, and cloud integrations, allowing me to quickly diagnose issues and communicate effectively with both customers and engineering teams.
Internal Transition to QA
As I worked more closely with engineering, I became increasingly involved in reproducing defects, validating fixes, and identifying quality risks before software reached customers. That experience led to an internal transfer into the Senior QA Engineering team, where I combined my technical support background with a customer focused approach to quality.
Key Takeaway
Working directly with enterprise customers fundamentally shaped how I approach quality. Understanding how software behaves in real production environments and how customers experience it continues to influence every feature I test today.
